How Epicor Prophet 21 and incentX work together
The Epicor Prophet 21 integration connects P21, Epicor’s ERP for distributors, to incentX, an incentives and compensation platform. incentX reads sales orders, invoices, and AP/AR lines from Prophet 21 and works out the rebates and commissions each transaction earns. P21 stays your system of record, and approved results can post back to it.
What you can run on Prophet 21 data
Supplier rebates you can see before the quarter ends
Purchasing rebates depend on what you bought, from which supplier, and in which product group. incentX reads the AP side of Prophet 21 and applies each supplier agreement’s tiers and product groups as purchases post, so you can see the rebate you expect to claim while the period is still open.
Customer and buying group rebates on the same sale
A distribution customer may buy under its own rebate agreement and through a GPO or buying group at the same time. incentX tracks GPO membership and checks every Prophet 21 invoice against each agreement that covers it, down to the product group. Where programs overlap on a customer or product, it applies the priorities and exclusions you configured.
Rep commissions paid on margin
Build Profit-Based or Tier-Based plans from P21 invoice lines by customer, product line, or both. The commission and the rebate come from the same invoice, which incentX calls the spine: the one ERP transaction every program calculates from. A rep’s statement and finance’s rebate accrual point to the same line in Prophet 21.
How setup works
- Your IT team provisions read credentials or API keys for Prophet 21 and confirms firewall and allowlist rules for outbound connections.
- An implementation engineer maps P21 customers, suppliers, and product groups to your program rules, backfills past orders and invoices, and validates the calculations with your team.
- After go-live, new P21 transactions feed your programs as they sync, and approved rebates and commissions can post back to Prophet 21 as GL entries or AP/AR records.
Epicor Prophet 21 integration FAQ
Does incentX integrate with Epicor Prophet 21?
Yes. incentX provides a bidirectional integration with Epicor Prophet 21. It reads sales orders, invoices, and AP/AR lines to calculate supplier rebates, customer rebates, and commissions, and it can post approved results back to P21 as GL entries or AP/AR records. Prophet 21 remains the system of record throughout.
What Prophet 21 data does incentX use?
incentX works from transaction-level data: sales orders, invoices, and AP/AR lines, along with the customer, supplier, and product fields your programs depend on. During implementation those fields are mapped to your rebate and commission rules, and history is backfilled so accruals start from real numbers. You don’t need middleware or a data warehouse.
How often does Prophet 21 data sync with incentX?
That varies by connection. incentX’s native connectors pick up changes through change-data-capture or webhooks, usually in under five minutes. Systems without native event support use a scheduled sync that can run as often as every 15 minutes. incentX’s solutions engineering team can go through the details for your Prophet 21 environment.
