How SAP Business ByDesign and incentX work together
SAP Business ByDesign is SAP’s cloud ERP for mid-sized companies. The ByDesign integration gives incentX, an incentives and compensation platform, the invoices, sales orders, and AP/AR lines it needs to calculate rebates and commissions and settle trade promotions. Every result traces to a ByDesign document and can post back as a GL entry or AP/AR record.
What you can run on SAP Business ByDesign data
Program cost in view before the period closes
Accruals update each time a ByDesign invoice syncs, so finance can see what a rebate or commission program is on track to cost before close. The estimate and the final payout come from the same posted transactions. There’s no separate forecast to reconcile at period end.
Trade promotion claims matched to ByDesign invoices
Plan, fund, and settle trade promotions in incentX next to your rebates and commissions. Each promotion claim is matched and reconciled against the ByDesign invoice it covers, so a settlement reflects what was sold and billed. If the same sale also qualifies for a customer rebate, both amounts come from that one invoice.
Report figures you can trace to the invoice
Every figure in an incentX report traces back to the ByDesign order or invoice behind it. When a rep, a vendor, or an auditor questions a number, you open the transaction instead of digging through exports. Field-level audit logs also show who changed a program rule and what it said before.
How setup works
- IT provisions read credentials or API keys for your ByDesign system and confirms allowlist rules for outbound connections.
- With an implementation engineer, you map ByDesign sales order, invoice, and AP/AR fields to each program, load history, and check the results against figures you already trust.
- Programs launch on live ByDesign data. Approved rebates, commissions, and promotion settlements can post back as GL entries or AP/AR records.
SAP Business ByDesign integration FAQ
Does incentX integrate with SAP Business ByDesign?
Yes. incentX offers a pre-built, bidirectional integration with SAP Business ByDesign. It reads transaction data straight from the ERP, without middleware or a data warehouse, and can write calculated rebates, commissions, and promotion settlements back to ByDesign. Most connectors go live within a day once IT supplies credentials.
What SAP Business ByDesign data does incentX use?
incentX reads transaction-level data from ByDesign: invoices, sales orders, and AP/AR lines. During setup, an implementation engineer maps the fields each program needs and backfills history so the results can be checked. If a program also depends on data from outside ByDesign, it can come in as CSV files, over SFTP, or through the open REST API.
How does incentX protect ByDesign data?
incentX holds SOC 2 Type II certification. Data coming from ByDesign is protected by TLS 1.2 or higher while it moves and by AES-256 encryption once stored. Sign-in can run through Okta or Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) single sign-on, so access control is managed centrally, and every change to a program is logged at field level.
